Let's do a quick test. Open your CV and find the line that says something like proficient in AI tools. Got it? Well, every other applicant has that exact line, too. Now, imagine a second scenario where you send someone a link so they can actually see what AI systems you've built.

Which one of these two people is going to get the call for this job? In this video, I want to show you why the marketeer of 2027 needs a GitHub link instead of CV. And how to set up your GitHub portfolio in the next hour. And you don't need to know how to code or have a computer science degree. Let's get going.

So, why GitHub at all? A site that was primarily made for developers. Well, the expectation out of marketing specialist is changing rapidly. And now it's not about being able to write a perfect email. It's about being able to design a newsletter automation that will go out every week.

Or 50 different pages which each are going to be tested. And there are three reasons why GitHub link actually beats a CV. First of all, it's a proof of your abilities, not just a promise. Because anyone can open your GitHub page and actually check what kind of systems you have built. Secondly, a good GitHub account is able to show recruiters how do you think, how you approach problems, and how do you design systems.

And finally, a GitHub account from someone who uses it a lot compounds into the future. So, first of all, let's talk about what actually GitHub is. So, think of it like a Google Drive, but for code instead of the files. And often, one term that is used a lot is repo or repository. We can have six favorite projects that people see.

And for any marketeer, I recommend to make these free projects. One that will show recruiters that you can direct AI, which is your AI marketing system, like brand voice, audience, prompts, skills, things like those. Second one is about showing people that you can ship something, like a landing page or a lead magnet. And the third project should demonstrate to prospective employers that you can think in systems and you're able to design workflows and automations. And together, those things should say, "I can tell AI what to do, I can build things, and I can make things run without me.

" And I think that's exactly what marketing roles are going to look for in the next two to five years. So, let's start building our portfolio. For this, you'll need a free GitHub account and Claude Code that's connected to it. If you don't have an account on GitHub, go to github.com and sign up.

And use your real name or something that's close to it as your username, because, trust me, marketing queen 96 does not look great in the eyes of the employers. Then, in Claude Code, you'll need to connect to your GitHub account. And you do it by clicking settings, then connectors, discover, and then just typing in GitHub and connecting to your account. Next up, we're going to do readme, which is a special repo with the same name as your username. And whatever you write in it is going to show up at the top of your profile.

I asked Claude to interview me first instead of writing it straight away, because otherwise you get a very generic paragraph. And this is the prompt that I used. Then, I just ask it to create the repo and publish it. So that when you refresh your profile, your introduction is going to sit right at the top of the page. So, let's make project number one, which is your AI marketing system.

Your first project can simply be your brand voice, your audience profile, or your best five prompts in one repo with a readme explaining how you use them. And believe me, that's already more proof that you are actually proficient in AI than just saying it on your CV. And put this on GitHub, I would just explain to Claude, "Hey, let's put those five skills that I use on daily basis on GitHub, but strip out any personal information about me or my customers." The second project should be something that people can click and see working. It mine for example is Women Lead AI website, which is a website that I made with Claude Code and it runs on Vercel.

And if you have never done something like this, the quickest one to make would be a one-page website for a lead magnet or a personal link page. I would just ask Claude Code to build it and publish it so people can actually click on it. The third project should show that you can think in systems. For me, it could be my YouTube auto dubbing tool, where you can take one video and turn it into five other languages. And to make a system work automation, think about a series of things that you need to do and consolidate it into one automation.

And now that we've got that covered, we're going to pin your three projects to the top of your profile, add a profile photo, one-line bio, and add your website and LinkedIn. And then I would put that GitHub link in your LinkedIn featured session and on top of your CV. Because I think that marketer and builder are becoming the same job because the marketers I see doing really well right now aren't necessarily the best writers. They're the ones who can take an idea and make it real with AI doing the technical part. And GitHub is a way to show that.

When you've made your portfolio, drop your GitHub link in the comments because I would genuinely love to see what you have built. And please subscribe to this channel for more content like this.
